A thunderstorm and downpour turned the Woodward Dream Cruise, one of the nation's biggest automotive events, into a bit of a nightmare Saturday evening near Detroit.
We knew it was coming," Lesley Eland, 60, of Macomb Township, Mich., told.
"We could look up at the sky."
Police temporarily diverted traffic off Woodward in Royal Oak after the storm, but as skies cleared Saturday night, the show cars were cleaned up and the fun resumed.
The event brings out cars of all types, some crazy and some just historic. The event celebrates the golden age of Detroit dreamboats and cruising down wide boulevards.
