New Audi A2 concept was previewed ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show

The last years have shown Audi and other German automakers struggling to meet the customers' requirements by developing wild supercars or luxurious superminis. This year's Frankfurt Motor Show is going to be spectacular as Audi planned to unveil its all-new pure-electric concept study that revives the name of the Audi A2. The original was considered to be unique as it was made entirely of aluminum and was a small MPV built from 1999 to 2005. However, the new A2 concept seems to be a very different car, being a five-door hatchback smaller in size than the three-door A1 with a length of 3.80 m, a width of 1.69 m and a height of 1.49 m. Audi representatives were very keen on preserving the technical details of the A2 concept, but there rumors which suggest that the car finds its basis on the A1's platform, featuring a flat interior floorboard, providing enough space for four people. The rear console extends forward between the two rear seats, while the center console is attached to the driver's seat and the load are integrates two levels with a frame creating the upper level. Concerning the drivetrain, there is one official piece of information, according to which the A2 boasts a powerful electric drive system, ensuring long range and agile performance. It the company decides to produce such a model, it is most likely that it will be offered with both electric and conventional powertrains. We expect more details at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
